Natalia Lazaro Prevost works in the fields of visual research, mediation and curation. Her practice develops visual investigations that emerge from the dialogue between archives, photography,
and body movement. Her recent works explore the possibilities of body movement through relational objects, as an analytical and active tool to rethink the depiction of body expressions that
live along with mental suffering.

Natalia Lazaro Prevost (Barcelona, 1993) develops visual investigations that explore the mechanisms of oppression throughout the historical depiction of the body in the clinic, and from different branches of medicine, with a special focus on women. Her body of work Acts of Resistance, poses the possibilities of body movement as an analytical and active tool for decoding gestures. By using relational objects she re-reads non-normative body expressions that allow diverse forms of inhabiting the body in everyday life. The work revisits Trieste's experience during the years of the Italian psychiatric reform, establishing a dialogue between the acts of resistance and liberation from the archives, and the body movement laboratory where she opens a research on the tension that exists between individual and collective emancipation as an important focus of transformation.
Graduated in Journalism, she works until 2018 as a photographer and journalist in Chile, Malaysia and Spain with media such as El País, ARA, El Confidencial, The Guardian or Corriere della Sera; and NGOs such as UNHCR or Clowns Without Borders. In 2019 she moves to London to study the MA Photography at LCC-UAL (graduated with Distinction), developing her own art research and starting her interest in curation. In 2021 she receives the Art Jove Creació 2022 award, in collaboration with La Panera to publish a book. She is part of the experimental research group Trabajadoras Anónimas at La Escocesa. She has been selected as artist in residence 2023 at L'Estruch. She is currently based in Barcelona.
